The Audi just happened. It was never part of my project car plans. Thinking about it now, it was probably part of a phase. I was a young professional working to establish myself in the "real world" and the Audi played a role in that identity.

I had a decision to make when I realized that the cams were wearing down on the Jetta. Having had it for a good while, did I spend the money to fix it or move on to my next vehicular adventure? It was easily going to cost 3K to get the Jetta tuned and cleaned up mechanically and that didn't guarantee that something major wouldn't become an issue, sooner rather than later. Let's just say that money wasn't growing on trees, since I had just returned from a four month Australian experience and had just started my career.

I opted to trade it in...

Finding my next ride landed me at the dealership my automotive, tech father was at -- Audi. A couple of appointments and a lot of soul searching ended with me trading in my beloved Jetta for a brand new 2006 Audi A4 quattro!

Mod ideas started nearly immediately, as you can imagine. I was beyond excited! Yup, wheels and suspension came first...
_______

Sadly, the life of the Audi was a short one -- only eight months. An uninsured driver pulled out in front of me and the Audi was totaled. Needless to say, it wasn’t one of my best days. The Audi was an amazing car while it lasted and expanded my car horizons.
